Bellary is a smaller community than Wakathuni so the design reflected this in two ways.  Firstly we reduced the number of shipping containers to three (from the four at Wakathuni) and increased the amount of space accessible without a key. The design included a large lockable meeting room but the aim was to have the building function for a variety of community members independently from designated events.

Evidence has shown this to be a good strategy with the center being used on an informal basis with people locating themselves there both day and night. The outdoor kitchen, toilets and washroom are available 24 hours a day and have proven to be robust enough over time to keep servicing the community.
